Jane Shilton Vintage Navy Patent Leather Bag

This unusual bag is by Jane Shilton. It is made from navy leather and has a bag within a bag.
The bag is so unusual that it cannot fail to catch your eye. There are two small side pockets either side of the central bag which has a further zip pocket.

Over 70 years ago, Alexander Shilton founded a handbag company in the City of London. Production continued until the outbreak of war, when Alex was to see active service. The factory was seconded to make gas masks and despite being bombed four times, it survived under the capable management of Alex's secretary, Jane. When Alex returned home, not only did he marry Jane, but he named the company Jane Shilton.
