Monet Pair of Silver Bangles

This pair of slim bangles are made by 'Monet'. These bangles have a milled outer edge which adds to their interest. Monet jewellery was hugely popular in the UK during the 1980's when many department stores, such as Army and Navy sold a great deal. The pieces are well made and a welcome addition to any costume jewellery collection.
Signed inside the bangles 'Monet'

Monet Jewellery was made by Monocraft Products Company, a Providence, Rhode Island company founded in 1927. At first, this company created handbags with gold-plated appliqués and monograms. In 1929, the Monocraft Products Company, under the name Monet, began creating costume jewellery. They did not market their jewellery pieces as Monet until 1937.
Before 1955, Monet Jewellery was characterized by their use of precious metals and their unique designs. At this point they introduced the Monet Trademark.
From 1969 to 1989, General Mills acquired Monocraft Products Company, the company that held rights to Monet the longest. From 1989 to 1994, the jewellery was sold through Crystal Brands, and from 1994 to 2000, Chase Capital Partners, Lattice Holding.
Currently, Liz Claiborne, Inc. produces Monet Jewellery, a right they've held since 2000.
